X-ray Brachytherapy Skin Treatment
A new name for a technique that offers the advantages of Ir-192 Brachytherapy and Contact X-ray therapy.
Beam characteristics are readily optimised for each application and of course, the use of low energies minimises radiation protection requirements.
An extended treatment distance is used for larger planar field sizes and to achieve increased % depth dose.
50 kVp 0.5-0.7 mm Al HVL.
Applicators from 20- 40 mm diameter are available.
